Cwmbiga Cottages - Terms of Business
Booking / Hire Charge
If you wish to confirm a booking 25% of the cottage hire charge is payable immediately. This is not refundable and is deductible from the hire charge. The balance of the hire charge must be paid at least 8 weeks before the date of arrival or, in the case of a booking made less than 8 weeks before the date of arrival, at the time of booking.
The use of the cottage, consisting of lounge / dining and kitchen area, shower room, two double bedrooms, an en suite twin room and one single bedroom, sleeping seven in total. Where the small party discount has been given, the en suite twin room will not be will not be included unless agreed otherwise.
Electricity, central heating and wood for use in the wood burning stove, bed linen, tea towels, bath mats and 2 rolls of toilet paper for each shower room in use and one bath towel per guest.
A full inventory can be provided with the receipt for the hire charge, if requested, but in brief the equipment provided includes wood burning stove, television with Freesat channels, DVD player with a selection of DVDs, fridge freezer, fan oven, halogen hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, outdoor picnic table and barbeque.
What’s Not Included
There is a supplementary charge for pets (normally max two per cottage) of £20. Any evening meals and packed lunches ordered or drinks removed from the mini bar need to be paid for in cash prior to check out.
Arrival / Departure
Unless special arrangements have been made, please plan to arrive after 4pm and before 9pm on the day of arrival; and leave before 10am on the day of departure.
If you have not already paid via our website, you can pay by the following methods:
1. By credit transfer to our bank account.
2. By card payment over the telephone.
3. Online via a payment link we can email to you.
Please advise us of how you wish to pay.
8 weeks or more before arrival: the full hire charge (less the original deposit of 25%) will be refunded.
4 weeks or more before arrival: 50% of the hire charge will be refunded.*
Less than 4 weeks before arrival: none of the hire charge will be refunded.*
[*In both these instances, we will still seek to find alternative bookings. If we are successful, we will refund the amount of the hire charge covered by the alternative booking, less the original deposit of 25%. You may wish to consider taking out commercial cancellation insurance.]
The maximum capacity of each cottage is 7 persons plus one infant. If 7 people are staying at a cottage, no additional guests will be admitted. Where a small party discount has been given, the full price for the stay will become payable if the number of persons staying at the cottage exceeds 4.
Cleaning / Breakages / Damage
When we hand the cottage over, it will be clean and in good order. Please leave it as you found it.
We are sure that you will respect the property and its contents but we recognise that accidents happen. Breakages and damage (including damage caused by pets) other than normal wear and tear will need to be paid for, but only at cost.
A bond of £250 per cottage is required, payable when the balance of the booking charge is due. This is returnable immediately on departure if the cottage is left in good order and the terms of the booking have been complied with. Where the bond requirement has been reduced or waived and the property and/or contents damaged, breakages and damage will still need to be paid for in line with above.
