Clywedog Reservoir (Llyn Clywedog in Welsh) was created in the '60s and provides amazing views, a thriving habitat for wildlife and fantastic fly fishing. Several thousand trout are added to the water each week during the season and there are often fishing competitions throughout the year.

The Clywedog is a great place for a fishing holiday in Wales - beautiful scenery, conditions varying depending on the season to keep you on your toes, fresh stock added weekly and lots of local attractions to keep partners who may not be as keen as you on fishing interested!
Here at Cwmbiga our two 4* holiday cottages are within casting distance of the lake - a three minute drive will bring you straight to the local fishing club. Sleeping up to 14 in total, we can provide the perfect base for a group fishing trip as well as smaller parties . Each cottage has a freezer should you come home laden with trout, a washing machine for washing any mud away and a drying room for drying wet kit overnight. We have a mini bar in the cottages so you don't need to go off to the shops again after a long day, and we also provide preprepared home-made meals for you to pop in the oven when you get in. Packed lunches can also provided so you can cram in as much trout fishing as possible without having to leave the lake!
