Wildlife at Cwmbiga - our Diary

Latest

House martins back from their Winter vacation - set to straightaway rebuilding and repairing last year's nests.

Found Emperor Moth basking on Sun - beautiful.

April 2011

Found that we have our first pied flycatchers nesting in on e of our many bird boxes.  Lovely song - which first alerted us to something new.

Lots of redstarts and crossbills about.  Crossbills spectacular in the sun.

Swallows arrived back - always a sign (and sound) of Spring.

Wild ducks settled on the pond - will they breed here?

March 2011

Frogs, toads and newts around in abundance.  Lots of mating / noise in the pond.
