Visit the Museum of Mechanical Magic, Llanbrynmair. Climb Cader Idris. Hire bikes and explore some of the many, many cycle rides in the area, go trail riding or glimpse the underground history of the area at Llywernog lead mine.
For those of you
that like something a little different, you could try a guided tour around
a local vineyard.
Or you could walk
the local stretches of the Severn Way.
One of our favourite nearby walks through Llawr-y-glyn [only 6 miles from Cwmbiga] appeared in The Times: "20 Great British Walks" in the Summer of 2009. See a map of the walk here. Or if you want to just play by the sea then, as you can see from the photo, the beautiful beaches of unspoilt Aberdovey take some beating And, of course, the historic, lovely and very friendly town of Llanidloes is only 9 miles from Cwmbiga. The town website includes links to pages of local walks and cycle routes [both with downloadable guides], places to eat and drink and lots of other activities. As you can see, there are lots of things to do and places to explore during your stay at Cwmbiga. 10 things to do ... without getting in your car |
