Clywedog Reservoir Cwmbiga is surrounded by the lovely Hafren Forest which covers about 40 square kilometres.  And the Glyndwr Way, a National Trail, passes very near to one end of the farm.

The beautiful Clywedog Reservoir, renowned for its fishing and sailing, is only a mile from Cwmbiga.  You can hire bikes from Hafren Bike Hire which is based a couple of miles from the farm, or try your hand at clay pigeon shooting in nearby Trefeglyws.

For the more adventurous, the Forest Experience Rally School is only a few miles away.

Alternatively, you can explore the historic town of Llanidloes, learn more about
Owain Glyndwr or be inspired at the Centre for Alternative Technology.

If you are interested in wildlife, then the Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust and RSBP both have reserves nearby and you can watch red kites being fed at Gigrin Farm.
Or if you want to just play by the sea, then the beautiful beaches of Aberdovey take some beating.

Other activities available locally include climbing, quad biking, and pony trekking.  Snowdonia National Park is only 20 miles from the farm.  Some of the Great Little Trains of Wales are also nearby.  And if you are looking for shopping and culture, then the lovely university town of Aberystwyth is only 30 miles away on the coast.
